Meet The Cat Lady
Hi! My name is Kelley and I've been taking care of furry family members since 2012. Let me tell you a little about myself, how I got started, and why I want to be the one to take care of your kitties.
My Story
Since birth, I have always had a cat by my side - above, you'll see me with the family cat 33 years ago! And all my life I have loved animals. While I love both dogs and cats, I feel like cats often get overlooked in the animal care world and seen as "an easy pet". My first experience with cat-sitting specifically came in 2012, when a coworker asked if I would be interested in looking after her 10 cats. I eagerly said yes and in caring for them, I realized that even in a single household, each cat has its own varying, specific needs, and deserves individualized attention. Over the past 14 years, I have pet sat numerous cats and dogs and I've learned my passion is taking care of cats that might otherwise go overlooked. I like to work with anxious kitties, spicy kitties, and every kitty in between and enjoy building a bond with them. The hardest part about pet-sitting for me, is saying goodbye on the last visit!
Meet My Own Pets!
While I've had pets the entirety of my life, these are the ones who've been with me in adulthood.
Smudge
A little black "smudge" rescued off the Cape Fear Bridge in 2011, Smudge was the first cat that was completely my own. She passed away in February 2024 from cancer.
Fat Face
Born into a litter of gray tabbies that all looked the same and were named for their most prominent feature (2009), Fat Face grew up into an elegant little lady. She passed away from cancer in December 2025.
Honey
A honey colored dog adopted from the New Hanover Humane Society in 2011, Honey got me up, out of bed, and outside during even the worst days. She passed away from old age in September 2025.
Pete
A stray cat plucked from the streets of Charlotte in 2016, Pete completed my original feline trifecta.
Sunny
While I have fostered kittens for many years, Sunny was my first adult foster from Laps and Naps for Senior Cats. He was also my first foster fail and was officially adopted in March of 2025.
Theodore
Theodore was a boarder at an animal boarding facility I worked at, whose owner unfortunately passed away. Since I had recently lost two furry family members and Pete needed a younger playmate, Theodore joined the home in January 2026, recreating another feline trifecta.
